ith the gel? Are they cooler?” is a question that I receive daily in some form or the other. Serta has a patented process of infusing gel-beads into their memory foam. The mixture is roughly 33% gel beads, 67% memory foam. This mixture gives the Serta iComfort and iSeries beds a different feel than Tempur-Pedic or other brands. Is it better? Who knows, that is subjective, but I will say that the quality and craftsmanship is high quality. As far as the cooling factor goes the concept is that the gel absorbs body heat and wicks it away from your body. Working in the industry we get bombarded by marketing and propaganda they same as the consumers. One brand will make a proclamation that they are “cooler than the competition”, then the competition refutes it with their own statistics, and pretty soon both sides are lobbing mortars at the other. At the end of the day I’d just say this – there are 7 iComfort models (all Gel memory foam) and 5 iSeries (spring support covered with Gel memory foam) here at Gardner’s Mattress & More and you are bound to find one that feels awesome to you. I don’t know if these beds will make a “hot sleeper” not be hot anymore, but they won’t turn a “regular sleeper” into a sweaty mess.
