For my day job, I’m a Sleep Consultant. Sleep Consultant? What the heck is that? Someone might try to call shenanigans on me and say, “That’s a fancy title for ‘mattress salesman’”, ok, I get that. But where I work at Gardner’s Mattress & More we really try to be the sleep experts, helping you make the most informed mattress selection based upon comfort and price.
Part of being a ‘sleep consultant’ is staying on top of new products, and Tempur-Pedic has just released two new collections, the TEMPUR-Breeze™ Collection and the Weightless Collection. Both address different concerns and needs for consumers, and as Gardner’s Mattress & More is Lancaster County’s only Tempur Elite dealer I wanted to take a minute to describe the beds to you.
The Cloud Supreme and Rhapsody are two of Tempur’s most popular models and Tempur-Pedic has just made a TEMPUR-Breeze™ version of both of the models. What’s TEMPUR-Breeze™ all about? TEMPUR-Breeze™ is about sleeping cooler. I’ll let the manufacturer use their own words to explain the technical stuff:
TEMPUR-Breeze™ technology works in three ways: producing extra coolness where the body touches the mattress, helping regulate body heat for a more comfortable temperature throughout the night, and channeling heat away from the mattress. The TEMPUR-Breeze™ cover feels cool to the touch and wicks moisture and heat away from the body. Below, the TEMPUR-Breeze™ comfort layer, which incorporates state-of-the art cooling material, draws excess heat away from the body, while the revolutionary new TEMPUR-Climate™ support layer transports heat away from the surface.
In plain English – you sleep cooler. The mattress surface is actually cool to the touch. You know that cool feeling when you first get into bed and feel the cool sheets? Well you get that all night. Some people just sleep “hot” no matter what – I’m one of them. I tend to sleep with one leg outside of the covers – and by covers I mean just a flat sheet. I’m a heat pump – but the TEMPUR-Breeze™ beds actually make you feel like you are in air-conditioned comfort. I’d recommend these beds for anyone that is a hot sleeper or is experiencing hot flashes or night sweats.

The TEMPUR-Weightless™ beds are the other new addition to the Tempur-Pedic lineup. The TEMPUR-Weightless™ beds are modeled after a line of Tempur-Pedic beds that are sold in Europe (Sensation Collection) and give you more of a floating feeling while laying on the bed. With a traditional Tempur-Pedic we like to explain to people that you “sleep in the bed – not on it”, meaning you actually sink into the slow-response foam a little bit and it molds, contours, and hugs your body. However with the new TEMPUR-Weightless™ beds you get more of the “springy” feel of a traditional inner-spring or latex mattress, but with all of the comfort and pressure-relief that Tempur-Pedic is known for.
